August 28th, 1963. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his ‘I Have a Dream Speech’ at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. Visiting the house where MLK was born (Atlanta, Georgia), the hotel where he was assassinated (Memphis, Tennessee) and the MLK Memorial (Washington, DC) was indescribable. Being at the exact location where this man was born and where his life was taken away evokes so many emotions. His legacy and his dream has not fully materialized but I do believe that he would be proud to see how far we’ve come 50 years later. No, we have not yet reached the promise land but one day maybe we will get there. Thank you Martin for having the courage to fight, even when all hope seemed bleak. You were truly an inspiration. #50YearsLater #IHaveADream #FreedomAintFree
